Celebrating the Centenary of the Ashover Railway

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, we are celebrating the centenary of the Ashover Light Railway. BGRA invites 16mm members to come and run their Ashover rolling stock at Butterley. We will be joined by the Ashover Light Railway Society, and the Golden Valley Light Railway (GVR) plans to run its Ashover carriage at the Swanwick end of the Midland Railway line. (You will need to buy a ticket to get there.) We have 32mm and 45mm track and would love to see your Baldwin locomotives, WD stock, and Gloucester or Non-stop Wembley carriages. Attendance is free (note that the GVR carriage is at the other end of the Midland Railway, and you would need to pay for that and the GVR ride), and free tea and coffee will be provided all day.
