June Keeping It Real Book Club: Scattergood

We invite your 9-13 year olds to join June's discussion of our new Keeping It Real book club!

For fans of The Blackbird Girls and The War That Saved My Life, H.M. Bouwman’s Scattergood transports us to rural Iowa in 1941.  Peggy’s quiet life is turned upside down.  Her friend Joe is acting strange, the Quaker hostel nearby reopens to house Jewish refugees from Europe, and something is going on with her best friend and cousin…  

Scattergood offers even readers familiar with World War II a fascinating new glimpse of history and an unapologetic snapshot of a teenager battling challenges in her own life.  

Parents are welcome to stay on the junior side or browse the adult side. Parents of children 12yo and younger must remain on-site at OTB.
