Ratings & Upgrades with a Veterans Services Officer (VSO)
The time will be spent helping members understand what entitlements/healthcare specific to each you. Drop by and let’s talk about getting more entitlements ($$$) because of your service to our country.
For example:
1. Veterans can be entitled to more than 100% Disability money.
2. Do you believe you are “under rated”? Let us talk and what it could be.
3. Vietnam & Gulf War Vets along with those proving exposure to Toxic Chemicals, ANYWHERE, are now entitled to 100% FREE VA Healthcare no matter the disability rating; even if NOT RATED.
4. Retired Military rated at 10-40% have every VA dollar earned subtracted from their military retirement. Be 45% rounded up to 50% VA Disabled and you keep all the money.
5. Disabled Veterans rated 50-100% are entitled to 100% Free VA healthcare.
6. Disabled Veterans rated 90-100% are also entitled to FREE Dental care.
7. Non-retired Military Vets rated 90-100% are entitled to ChampVA Medical insurance for the family.
8. Veterans can earn BONUS DISABILITY POINTS for certain pairs of injuries.
9. Military, Chapter 61, Medically Retired must choose between the either Military Medical Retirement Pay or VA Disability pay; most choose the VA payment. Did you know there can be a way to collect from both the VA and military at the same time.
10. Even if you’re already some civilian health insurance, there are advantages ($$$) to having free VA Healthcare in your back pocket paying second to your primary insurance.
11. Those relying all on Medicare & Tricare-for-Life should have free VA Healthcare in their back pocket so when TFL does not cover some procedure or drug, “it can happen”, you are covered.
Many Vets have not applied for disability compensation because the ailments are thought not to have been caused by military service although THEY MAY WELL COULD HAVE entitling you to hundreds to thousands of dollars a year. Maybe your existing disabilities seem under-rated; come learn if an upgrade ($$$) is in order.
Veterans recently diagnosed, being treated for Prostate Cancer should definitely attend because by not understanding the “Treatment Plan” can cost from $10K-$130K+ in VA payments. Prostate Cancer is all too common amongst Veterans. Be aware, those previously treated should be collecting extra money called Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) in addition to the current disability rating.
