In Places That Are Gone, Bennett Wilder, a straitlaced office worker, finds his life turned upside down when a chance meeting with Liz Messina, a hitchhiker, leads to a deadly pursuit by drug dealers, forcing him to explore how high a price he’s willing to pay to save her life. The inspiration for this novel was an encounter with a hitchhiker the author had in 1986.
The event will take place on the second floor of Elaine's. Limited street parking is available. Several garages are within two blocks of the restaurant.
