Tom Andes, Keith Burnstein, and Matthew Tobias bring decades of experience as performing artists to their debut trio gig. Featuring original songs by Andes (guitar and vox) and Burnstein (piano and vox), and with the accomplished drumming of Tobias, they delve into traditional styles influenced by the American songbook and New Orleans rhythm and blues.
Tom Andes writes original story-songs about down-and-outs and dreamers, influenced by blues, traditional country, spiced up with the flavor of New Orleans R&B. “Singing about ‘shorts and socks’ and a Mean Old Man who wants your dog out of his yard, Tom Andes finds a highly-original interpretation of the blues well-suited for the 2024 smartphone era.” (Selection Committee for 2024 Telluride Blues Challenge) "Johnny Cash goes to New Orleans." (Henry Turner Jr.)
Keith Burnstein is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and film composer who pens timeless tunes. His is a new American songbook that draws as much from Tin Pan Alley as it does from modern geniuses like Jeff Tweedy, Amon Tobin, and Mose Allison. "The songs, while instantly familiar, remain very much their own creations" (Secret Sound Shop), "combining the bedroom intimacy of a singer-songwriter" (Seven Days VT) with the rich harmonic palette of jazz, electronic, and "world" music.
