Summer Staycation: Fabric Art

Looking for adventure this summer vacation? Look no further than your own community - its Summer Staycation at KNS! Every week, families will dive deep into a new topic lead by a local expert from our region. From live animals to live theater, and making chocolate to making furniture - each program allows families to explore and engage with new skills and new ideas together!

This week at Summer Staycation, families will explore the world of fabric, sewing, and upholstery with local expert Lynne Sellers! After an introduction into the world of fabric at the museum, families will take a mini-field trip down Superior Street to visit Lynne's shop: Up & Up Upholstery! There, we will explore a series of hands-on stations related to sewing, button making, fabric crafts, using simple power tools, and more! Plus, each family will have a chance to make and take their own fabric creations.

This program is intended for preK-4th grade students and their families. Museum admission is not required for this program. Pre-registration is recommended to ensure a spot but not required. This program will include a short (under 5 minute) walk down Superior Street to reach our destination
