May is Labor History Month! Celebrate May at the Irish American Heritage Museum's special programming event, on May 28, 2025.
Mary G. Harris Jones (1837 - 1930), known as "Mother Jones," was an immigrant from Ireland who became an American labor organizer, with a fascinating journey with stops that included being a schoolteacher, dressmaker, activist community organizer, and prominent union organizer. Mother Jones' activism and organization successes earned her the moniker of the "most dangerous woman in America."
Claire Nolan is a brilliant writer, storyteller, and historical re-enactor. Claire has written and performed several sold-out plays about women at the Irish American Heritage Museum's Flanagan Theater.
The Irish American Heritage Museum is grateful for the sponsors of this event: Common Roots Brewing Company, ParkAlbany, and the Flanagan Family.
