Theater Voices announces auditions for a staged reading of The Children by Lucy Kirkwood, directed by Patricia Bunce.
Two retired English nuclear scientists live in an isolated cottage by the sea as the world around them crumbles. Together they plan to live forever on yogurt and yoga, until an old friend and former co-worker arrives with a frightening request. "Grips compulsively."--The Guardian. Auditions: Monday, August 25 at 7:00pm at Steamer No.10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany. Actors will be reading from the play.
Seeking:
Hazel—English, 60s, married to Robin, looks to preserve a semblance of order and normalcy in the wake of a recent disaster.
Rose: English, 60’s. Former colleague of Hazel and Robin, visiting after a 38-year absence; has strong values and ethics despite her sometimes reckless past behavior.
The role of Robin has been cast.

Rehearsals: Begin September 22; 3 times per week. Tech week begins the week of October 13.
