Albany County Historical Association-ten Broeck Mansion
9 Ten Broeck Place, Albany, United States
Join us for a special focus tour exploring the important stories of the enslaved and servants who lived and worked at the 1798 Ten Broeck Mansion. This tour explores the lives of the people who made life at the Ten Broeck Mansion possible, and considers their extended roles in the Albany region. Learn the stories of Susannah and her children, and of Rosanna Vosburgh, the African American abolitionist, philanthropist, and paid household manager at Ten Broeck Mansion. The tour includes a visit to the site of enslaved workers' working and living quarters on the grounds of the Ten Broeck Mansion and a discussion of historic equipment and spaces used by servants in the Mansion.
We suggest an additional 20-30 minutes to explore our historic gardens on your own with self-guided tours and browse our museum shop of local artisan goods and books.
