Agents of Change 2025: Hip Hop & Environmental Stewardship Residency

Agents of Change is a culturally relevant arts education residency that merges Hip Hop culture with environmental stewardship. Through an experiential exploration of the five elements of Hip Hop, youth artists will learn how creative expression and nature are deeply connected.

Participants will:

• 🌎 Explore ecological systems and climate change through Hip Hop
• 🎤 Create original artwork inspired by nature and community
• 🌱 Learn environmental stewardship in Oakland Regional Parks
• 🎭 Build teamwork, cultural awareness, and character development

Student-produced artwork will be displayed in East Bay Regional Park District Visitor Centers, and participants will perform at a final community showcase.

• 💰 $300 artist-in-residence stipend
• 🎙️ Hands-on learning in music, art, and environmental education
• 🌲 Access to Crab Cove, East Bay Regional Park in Alameda
• 🌟 Opportunities to showcase artwork and perform

• Location: Crab Cove, East Bay Regional Park — Alameda, CA
• Program Dates: July 21 – July 26, 2025 | Monday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Family Orientation (Mandatory): July 10, 2025 | 5:00–7:00 PM
• Community Showcase: August 2, 2025 | 3:00–5:00 PM
• Application Deadline: June 2, 2025
• Acceptance Letters Sent: June 5, 2025

• Must be 13–17 years old
• Must live in the Bay Area
• Must be able to attend all program dates and the final showcase
• Must attend the Family Orientation
