Hinsegin þjóðbúningar: Sköpun, saga og framtíð

Hvernig lítur þjóðbúningur framtíðarinnar út – ef hann speglar fjölbreytileika kynjanna og hinsegin veruleika?

Í fyrirlestrinum Hinsegin þjóðbúningar: Sköpun, saga og framtíð verður farið yfir sögu íslensku þjóðbúninganna, hvernig þeir hafa mótast í gegnum tíðina og hvernig kynbundnar hugmyndir hafa mótað gerð og notkun búninganna. Einnig verður sagt frá Fredy Clue, sænskum listamanni sem skapaði kynlausan þjóðbúning sem ögrar hefðunum og opnar fyrir nýja sýn á menningararf.

Að loknum fyrirlestri gefst rými til opinna umræðna: Hvernig gætu hinsegin og kynlausir þjóðbúningar litið út á Íslandi? Hvað má endurhugsa – og hvað viljum við skapa?

What will the national costume of the future look like – if it reflects gender diversity and queer reality?

The lecture, "Queer National Costumes: Creation, History and Future," will examine the history of Icelandic national costumes, how they have evolved over time, and how gendered ideas have shaped the creation and use of the costumes. It will also feature Fredy Clue, a Swedish artist who created a genderless national costume that challenges tradition and opens up a new perspective on cultural heritage.

After the lecture, there will be space for open discussion: What could queer and genderless national costumes look like in Iceland? What can be reconsidered – and what do we want to create?
