Sk8 Nelson Competition – Registration Now Open

Join us at Rockfish Valley Community Center on Saturday, May 31 for the Sk8 Nelson Competition—a full day of skating, live music, and community fun! Whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned rider, this event welcomes skaters of all levels. Come show off your skills, connect with other riders, and support the future of our local skate park.

🛹 Event Schedule:

• Gates Open: 12:00 PM
• Halfpipe Competition: 2:00–3:00 PM
• Game of SK8: 4:00–6:00 PM
• Live Music: 3:00–9:00 PM

🏆 Prizes:
Winners in each age group will receive swag bags and a custom medal!

👥 Age Divisions (Male & Female):

• Ages 5–8
• Ages 9–12
• Ages 13–16
• Ages 17 & Up

📋 Competition Format:

• Halfpipe Competition (2:00–3:00 PM):
  A jam session format where skaters take multiple runs, judged on style, difficulty, consistency, flow, and creativity. Skaters will be grouped by age and judged on their best runs.
• Game of SKATE (4:00–6:00 PM):
  Head-to-head trick battles. One skater sets a trick, the other must match. Miss it, get a letter. Spell “SKATE” and you're out. If turnout is large, we’ll run bracket-style to keep things fun and competitive.

💲 Entry Fee:

• $10 online pre-registration
• $15 at the gate
  All proceeds help fund insurance for the halfpipe and future skate park improvements.
