It's World Environment Day and what better way to encourage awareness and action to protect the environment than joining a community planting day?
Join the Friends of Sturt River Landcare Group and City of Marion Biodiversity team as we team up with 300 or so of our friends and neighbours to mark the day by planting masses of beautiful local-native seedlings on the Sturt River.
Bring your trowel, gloves, hat and your community spirit and join us for a morning planting beneath the trees. Learn which native plants belong here, how to plant and care for them, and how they help sustain all of us.
This planting is part of a longer-term project to create a cool, shady wildlife corridor in the heart of the suburbs where we live.
All planting volunteers are invited to share in a free celebration sausage sizzle following the planting.
