SADA Presentation Night and Handicap Singles Comp

Presentations will start at 7pm, highlighted by the counts of the Dennis Nolan and Peter Gibson Medals. Our winning Prem A and Prem B teams will get their hands on their trophy and be presented with their medals. There will also be medals for the runners-up. The voice of SADA, Gary ‘Demetriou’ Shepley, will read the votes round by round for the Dennis Nolan and Peter Gibson Medals to see who the captains have voted as the best and most sporting player in each division. Badges will also be presented for 180 milestones (including first 180).

The second edition of the SADA Handicap Singles will follow the presentations. Last year's winner was Adrian Spain who had to give most of his opponents big head starts on the night but overcame them all to claim the prizemoney. Starting scores will be based on singles averages from the Summer Season to give everyone an even chance of winning. The player in each match with the lower average starts on 501. The player with the higher average starts on the amount of points that will mean they are due to finish at the same time as their opponent. For example, if Karl Schaefer (25.5) is drawn to play Gary Shepley (19.4), Shepley will play from 501 and Schaefer will start on 660. Shepley’s average is equal to about 26 darts per leg. At Schaefer’s average, he will finish 660 also in 26 darts per leg. So if you can throw better than your average, you will have a good chance of winning, no matter who you play.
