After the success of our Come 'n Try open playtesting sessions late last year there's now already a dozen players who have built Premodern decks! We have a regular meet-up whilst we explore the avenues toward establishing a tournament scene. Good Games Adelaide has kindly set aside a space for our free playtesting group on the First Friday of every month. This session is open to anyone and everyone (with or without a deck) to come along and have a go, and/or experienced players to keep testing and fine tuning their builds with each other.
OUR NEW MONTHLY MEET-UP!
We welcome you to make some new friends, and absolutely encourage meeting up and playing with others more frequently than monthly. The 1st Fridays are just a way to ensure that those of us with busy lifestyles still keep an evening of fun booked in our calendars in advance... plus having a regular Open session ensures that players new to Premodern can find us and start connecting with the community.
Some of the regulars will make it early (4pm to 6-ish) others will join us later (after 5pm work), and still others will squeeze in an hour or two of gaming before their FNM events. It's flexible, but you can be pretty confident that there will be opponents to jam with during the 4pm to 8pm-ish window... and then join us for dinner if you want to go out afterwards :)
IS THIS A TOURNAMENT?
The Adelaide Eternal team are are very excited about this format so we're planning toward formal events, commentated feature matches and event coverage in the future. We're in discussion with stores and intend to establish tournaments after evaluating how the community evolves (and what they want in a tournament scene) after November. However we envisage this monthly playtesting meet-up will be an ongoing place for the Premodern community to get together and sling some classic cardboard in a chill environment.

WHAT DOES "PLAYTESTING" MEAN?
As a semi-structured playtesting session we'll be doing Round Robin with a rotation approx. every 45mins. The goal to get as many games in vs. different decks/players as possible, whilst discussing strategy ("in general, what's the best Cabal Therapy name vs you?" and "would it normally be safe to tap out here?") playing pre and post Sideboarded games.
WHY IS PREMODERN GOOD?
You can build a Premodern deck or just come along and borrow one of our many spares... Top tier decks cost around $200 bucks, the metagame moves slowly and they never rotate, so a great investment, and super rewarding to learn the intricacies of a 'closed format'.
