Bio of Professor Dr Luciano Fratocchi: Dr Luciano Fratocchi is a Full Professor of Management Engineering at the University of L’Aquila, Italy. He holds a PhD in Business Management from the University of Bologna and has been a visiting scholar at the Universities of Uppsala and Bath. Professor Fratocchi is a leading scholar in Italian manufacturing and actively contributes to Reshoring for Italy (RE4IT).
An internationally recognised expert in reshoring, global value chains, and sustainable manufacturing, Professor Fratocchi has published extensively in leading journals such as Journal of International Business Policy, Industrial Marketing Management, International Business Review, and Operations Management Research. His research also spans Industry 4.0, supply chain reconfiguration, additive manufacturing, and the sustainability implications of relocation decisions.
He leads and contributes to several major European research projects. At the University of L’Aquila, he also serves as the Rector’s Delegate for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation and chairs key committees on industrial property and quality assurance.
Professor Fratocchi is widely engaged in academic leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing knowledge on the transformation of global and regional manufacturing systems.
