This extraordinary evening atop the Arkaba Hotel is set to showcase Kangaroo Island at its best. Resident Head Chef Jasper Green will be joined by Sunset Food and Wine Head Chef and Owner Jack Ingram to craft an indulgent eight-course degustation with paired regional wine and spirits. Hear direct from local producers, and a representative from the island’s game-changing new golf course.
British-born Ingram is no stranger to fine dining. He trained in Michelin-starred drawcards including Le Champignon Sauvage and the Lygon Arms Hotel before heading to Australia in 2010, taking up the role of Southern Ocean Lodge Executive Chef five years later. Sunset Food and Wine, his own venue, was the first Kangaroo Island restaurant awarded a chef’s hat by the Australian Good Food Guide. This event will begin with a moment of culinary theatre as Ingram and Green prepare the first course in front of guests: a chance to see their creative process and techniques up close. Paired wines from The Islander Estate Vineyards, together with a Kangaroo Island Spirits selection, will be matched to each course.
Guest speakers including Ingram, Jack Packer from KI Oysters and a representative from The Islander Estate will share stories and inspiration during the night, while Sam Atkins from The Cliffs golf course is set to offer an exciting preview of the world-class project ahead of its opening.
