About 5 SIDED CUBE

Lead by Riverland born jazz pianist and composer Andrew Casey, 5 Sided Cube is a contemporary jazz-fusion / jazz-adjacent group made up of some of Adelaide’s finest musicians. Described as ‘a powerhouse of musicianship’ by veteran jazz saxophonist Dustan Cox, 5 Sided Cube also includes, Emile Ryjoch (saxophones), Tyler Venter (electric guitar), Jayden Dawson (electric bass) and Zed Crawford (drums).

Since their formation in 2021, the band has played over 30 live performances in South Australia spanning Whyalla, Waikerie, Renmark, Lyrup, Goolwa and Aldinga, as well as local festivals such as Dougstock, Utopian State, and the Umbrella Festival. At the 2023 Annual SA Music Awards, the band won People’s Choice – Most Popular Jazz after having released their debut EP’s Sunset Skies and Faux-decahedron the same year. The band went on to release multiple singles the following year which were featured on James Valentine’s program Upbeat on ABC jazz, in a program entitled ‘Cruisin’ with Casey’.

Having recently returned from a one-on-one mentorship with acclaimed jazz pianist Aaron Parks at his residence in Lisbon, Portugal, Andrew is more inspired than ever to take 5 Sided Cube to greater heights, leading his fellow musicians to exciting new worlds of sonic beauty.
