A musical created in 24 hours? Groundbreaking.
The team that brought you BOLT in January is reuniting with a new group of creatives to bring you BOLT 2.0 this summer!
Starting now, anyone from the community can submit their favorite songs from the musical theatre canon. On the evening of Friday, August 15th, the BOLT! team will draw ~ten of these songs for our writers to use in the show. Our dynamic duo writers Eduardo Velez III & Mac Welch have Friday evening until 8 AM the next morning to create a script that ties these songs into a show.
As dawn breaks, the directors (Katie Ibrahim and Matthew Manelli), along with music director Rebecca Lowrey will gather the team of actors (Elizabeth Evans, Rudy Lopez, Luzcarina Nunez, Jason Philip Solis, Ally Van Deuren & Jacob Waters) and use the following 12 hours to rehearse, stage, and perform the newly written musical by 8 PM the following day. Bring back the “play” in PLAY with us!
