Take a trip back in time with our fantastic immersive history-based family events as we bring the ancient world to life this summer!
Be transported back through time for a day of digging, discovering and getting your hands dirty in the world of archaeology! Join us at Earth Trust for an exciting all-day family event packed with hands-on activities, fascinating finds, and ancient stories.
Together you'll explore what lies beneath your feet with a guided archaeology tour including a real metal detector hunt and the chance to handle genuine artefacts.
Then dive into a series of engaging volunteer-led stations where young archaeologists can:
-Examine ancient poo to uncover secrets of the past
-Test and explore different types of soil
-Discover the world of zoo archaeology and the clues left by animal bones
-Create pottery inspired by ancient designs
-Make your own historic coins
-Get stuck in with a test pit dig
After a relaxed lunch break at the Earth Trust Centre, the adventure continues with a second archaeology session to make sure everyone gets to explore each activity station.
We’ll end the day gathered around the firepit to taste some ancient-style foods and hear a folktale from long ago.
This is a one-off event for curious young minds and budding archaeologists—don’t miss your chance to uncover history!
