We invite you to a plein-air watercolor workshop to paint a cityscape in Zurich. No preparation is necessary; you will be guided step by step by Ksenia Astakhova, professional artist and teacher, and founder of Artiloft.
The workshop will teach you how to:
- Create aerial and linear perspectives
- Paint a blurred background and find a focal point
- Simplify details
- Accentuate contrasts
- Create volume
- Represent water ripples
and much more
All participants will leave with a finished work, regardless of their level of preparation.
Date: August 17 (Sunday), from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Schipfe 16-24, 8001 Zurich (The exact location and organizational details will be communicated to registered participants closer to the event. In case of inclement weather, the workshop will be moved indoors and a reference photo will be provided).

The cost is CHF 80 with your own materials (see list below) or CHF 100 with materials provided.

Materials List:
1. A set of watercolor paints in tubes or pots (the more the better).
2. A set of round watercolor brushes: large, medium, small (preferably soft synthetic).
3. A large rectangular brush, 20-40 mm.
4. A white ink pen.
5. A plastic, porcelain, or metal palette.
6. A sketchbook.
7. A pencil and an eraser.
8. A water container.
9. Paper towels.
10. A water spray bottle.
11. Watercolor paper, approximately 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 inches), placed on a board or in a block (preferably 100% cotton, fine grain).
12. A cushion or mat to sit on.
13. Do not bring a stool if you don't have an easel. One is not essential.
