About the Workshop
Immerse yourself in the delicate beauty of impressionism at our art painting workshop, where you’ll create a stunning large-scale canvas featuring a ballerina’s tutu floating ethereally in the air, surrounded by a vibrant cascade of flowers. The tutu, a luminous white infused with shimmering pastel hues of pink, lavender, and soft yellow, dances against a dreamy backdrop of light blue and violet.
In this session, you’ll embrace the loose, expressive brushstrokes of impressionism to capture the tutu’s weightless grace and the flowers’ vivid charm—think roses, lilies, and daisies in full bloom.
Using acrylics, you’ll blend colors directly on the canvas to evoke light and movement, layering the background with gentle sweeps of blue and violet, then adding the tutu’s iridescent glow and the flowers’ textured petals.
Ideal for all levels, this workshop will guide you through impressionistic techniques to create a large, breathtaking piece that radiates elegance and floral serenity. Let your brush pirouette and bring this enchanting vision to life!
What you will learn:
- Loose Brushwork: Master the impressionistic style with quick, expressive strokes to suggest the tutu’s airy movement and the flowers’ organic shapes rather than precise details.
- Color Mixing on Canvas: Blend acrylics directly on the surface, merging light blues and violets for the background and layering pastel pinks, lavenders, and yellows into the white tutu for a shimmering effect.
- Interference Color Application: Use interference paints (which shift hues depending on light) – NEW in the studio – to add a magical, iridescent sheen to the tutu, applying them thinly over white to enhance their reflective quality.
- Layering for Depth: Build the composition in layers—starting with a soft wash for the background, then adding the tutu and flowers—creating a sense of depth and luminosity.
- Impasto Technique: Apply thick acrylic paint with a palette knife or brush to give texture to the flower petals and tutu folds, mimicking the tactile richness of impressionism.
- Wet-on-Dry Blending: Paint over dried layers to define edges softly, such as the tutu’s outline or flower highlights, preserving the airy, dreamlike quality.
- Color Temperature Play: Learn to balance cool tones (blue, violet) in the background with warm pastel accents on the tutu and flowers, evoking light and harmony.
- Negative Space Use: Shape the floating tutu and scattered blooms by painting around them, letting the background colors define their forms in true impressionistic fashion.
★No Prior Painting Experience Necessary. If it’s your very first time painting, you might wanna calculate a bit more time to finish the painting. Also, we recommend to skip a detail or two and/or call for assistance when you need!
★Step by Step Instructions, but you are always welcome to paint something else!
★1 canvas (60x80cm) and all Painting Materials Provided and Included in the Ticket Price
★Medium: Premium alcohol ink and resin materials .

★Important: For optimal drying process and avoiding any changes to your painting, we recommend that you leave your artwork in the studio at least overnight and arrange a pick-up time or book our shipping service after the session (up to 40x50cm canvas size, shipping of larger sizes upon request).
