First Day of Summer Party 10th of May

Thursday, April 24th, Icelanders celebrate the First Day of Summer. You might be wondering why (fair question), considering Iceland isn’t exactly famous for its warm April weather... or warmth in general. But in true Viking fashion, the celebration comes from the old Norse calendar, which only had two seasons: winter and summer!

At Nordiska, we last celebrated this wild tradition in 2022 — and now, by popular demand, and with a couple of weeks of delay, it’s making a glorious comeback.

If you DARE to show up as a Viking or Norse god/goddess, you’ll be rewarded with a liquid surprise… So dust off that Thor or Freyja costume you’ve been saving for this exact moment, and come party like there’s no tomorrow.
