Bachata ist ein eigener Tanzstil, wie auch ein eigener Musikstil. Es ist ein nah getanzter, eher langsamer und intimer Tanzstil, der seinen Ursprung in der Dominikanischen Republik findet. Figurenrepertoire ist sekundär, wichtiger sind angepasste Körperbewegungen und Bereitschaft für Feingefühl.
