Looking for the cutest little farmers in the county! Boys and Girls age 2 years to 11 years old

The Rotary Watermelon Festival is to support our agricultural industry. The Little Farmer Roundup will be a fun, cute way to celebrate the rich farming heritage of Hardee County. The Roundup is not ticketed separately it is part of the $5 admission to the festival.

The Roundup will begin with the

Seedling Category-girls and boys age 2 to 3.

Sprouts will be girls and boys age 4 to 6.

Cream of the Crop for girls and boys age 7 to 9.

Mr or Miss Little Farmer age 10 to 11.

This is not a glitzy pageant. We encourage you to allow the children to be themselves and enjoy the festival.

Age Divisions

Seedlings age 2 to 3.

Sprouts age 4 to 6

Cream of the Crop age 7 to 9

Mr. or Miss Little Farmer-age 10 to 11

(boys & girls welcome in all age groups)

(These age groups may vary depending on how many children we have of each age)

• Dress in Little Farmer Round Up attire. (No dressy pageant outfits)

• If there are less than three contestants in any age group, the contestants will be placed in another group.

• All contestants must be at the Roundup by their assigned check-in time. Roundup will begin at 10am.

• Agriculture-related props may be utilized by contestants. Example: , basket of eggs, stuffed animals, fruit/veggies, fresh crop items, tractor toys. All items must be hand held size.

• Cream of the Crop & Little Farmer contestants will answer a question on stage.

• The winner in each division will receive a trophy, the winner & runner up in each division will receive $25.00 Gift Card courtesy of MidFlorida Credit Union, all participants will receive a goody bag.

• The winner in each age division will be expected to ride in the Rotary Club Watermelon Festival farmer wagon around Pioneer Park during the event.

• All winners will be recognized on Rotary Club’s social media & email platforms for event promotion.

• All blanks on application must be completed.

• We encourage you to allow children to be themselves and enjoy the festival. Every contestant to be dressed in their best farmer getup, including overalls, sun dresses, straw hats, boots and plenty of denim. *no pageant style dresses or suits

SPONSOR: A sponsor is one or more person(s) who pays the entry fee. Their name and/or place of business will be announced as the contestants line up on stage for presentations. Sponsor can be mom and dad, grandma, grandpa, or a business of your choice. (Contestants will be introduced by number only during the judging.)

DEADLINE: Application must be postmarked by April 19, 2025. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please call Coordinator to confirm receipt of the application.

ADMISSION: Admission is $5.00 at the gate to attend event and under 5 FREE.
