In Collaboration with Wrenn’s Farm:
Christina Wrenn began growing cut flowers four years ago after finishing her horticulture degree at NC State. She started with a single row of zinnias, all of which sold very quickly, and since then she’s increased her production to over an acre of flowers!
Christina and her husband Austin Wrenn now grow ornamental flowers in rows, using also a greenhouse and a high tunnel full of beautiful blooms. The couple has turned the family farm in Zebulon into a full-time job, alternating between strawberry and flower seasons throughout the year. In the summertime, you’d find zinnias, snapdragons, dahlias, celosia, cosmos, sunflowers, and more. And this fall season, Christina invites you back for her beloved dried flower wreath making event—an opportunity to craft something beautiful with the blooms she’s grown and preserved with care.
Dried Flower Wreath Making Class:
All of the dried greenery and flowers were grown, harvested, and preserved by Christina this summer. Everything you need will be provided—including a grapevine wreath base, pre-cut dried greenery, a variety of dried flowers and accents, bows, cutting tools, and more. All greenery is thoughtfully prepped by Christina right on her farm. The only thing you’ll need to bring is a pair of closed-toe shoes!
There will be a selection of unique and seasonal add-ins to personalize your wreath, all grown or crafted by Christina and her team.
The workshop begins with a live demonstration by Christina, who will walk you through the process of designing your wreath. Then it’s your turn to get creative and craft your own one-of-a-kind piece to take home. We’ll conclude the experience with sunset refreshments and delicious homemade ice cream from the farm.
Please note: There may be bees actively pollinating around the farm during this time.
