About the Artist:
JOHN THIELS is a representative painter. Over the last three years, he studied with César Córdova, a Mexican painter based in the city of Puebla. His work ranges across genres (portrait, still life, landscape, and interiors) and is concerned with the questions of light, form and atmosphere. For him, representational painting is not an attempt to copy reality but involves the response of the artist in the moment of perception, at once figurative and abstract. His current interest is in sculptural painting.

Neighborhood Theatre Group (NTG) has been making “theatre from scratch” in Ypsilanti since 2015. NTG is dedicated to cultivating a welcoming and collaborative environment for theatre artists. Offering original plays, musicals, cabarets, and self-produced videos, Neighborhood Theatre Group believes in theatre’s ability to bring individuals together and create a sense of place.
