YSU Jazz Ensemble Concert

Join us on October 20, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in YSU's Ford Theater for the first Jazz Ensemble Concert of the season!

Under the direction of Dr. Kent Engelhardt, the Jazz Ensemble will present a dynamic program paying tribute to WYSU jazz host and YSU professor Dr. Martin Berger, Latin jazz innovator Eddie Palmieri, and Chuck Mangione, an initiator of the YSU’s Tony Leonardi Jazz Scholarship.

The evening will also feature the introduction of Stephen Enos, YSU’s new jazz trumpet instructor, through a performance of “Dedication” by Thad Jones. The concert will also feature an arrangement of “Shining Hour” by YSU alum David Lalama. In addition, the concert will premiere a brand-new arrangement of “Miami” by Lucky Chops, arranged by graduate student Andrea Richard.

Admission is free and open to the public.
