Storytelling is the act of constructing a narrative to help explain and understand what we as humans experience in the world. Personal storytelling helps people communicate their experiences, their history, their struggles and their knowledge to a personal audience. The audience grows through listening helping the storyteller and the audience to share history and experiences as well as increase resilience.
In this workshop you will learn how to construct your own personal story, explore what resilience is and how to develop it. Learn also how the human-animal bond contributes to resilience and recovery for humans. Therapy dogs from Dogsmartz Unleashed will be present at the Library for this workshop and Dogsmartz staff will discuss how animals can help develop resiliency and be a positive part of the story for you and others.
Sponsored by NAMI Mahoning Valley, Dogsmartz and Stand Grow Thrive: Mahoning Resiliency Movement
