The Rust Belt Theater Company will present their 13th annual installation of FORBIDDEN YOUNGSTOWN on July 25 and 26, each night at 8PM. This year’s production will take place in the Moyer Room at the Youngstown Playhouse.
This bawdy, irreverent musical revue is a hilarious spoof of theater culture, and the city of Youngstown OH, off off off off off Broadway. The production pokes fun at classic musical theater tropes, and stereotypes, while paying homage to some of the most popular musicals of all time.
The show is updated each year, adding new material to old favorites. New for this year’s incarnation will be a parody of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, titled “The Hills Have Eyes”, as well as songs that lovingly lampoon HAMILTON, and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.
CAST: Lisa Torrence, PK Lankford, Haley Comet, Rachel Clifford, Rachael Kerr, Caitlyn Murphy, Vicci Sfikas, Caitlin Cole, Sarah Whitlatch, Jessica Patoray, and Robert Dennick Joki.
RBTC’s annual production of HOW THE DRAG QUEEN STOLE CHRISTMAS will also take place at the Youngstown Playhouse this year. The dates for that production are DEC 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14.

The RBTC lost its regular performance venue when CLUB SWITCH was forced to close over a landlord dispute.
