First Wednesday Reader Series presents poets Jane Ann Fuller of Logan, Ohio & Wendy McVicker of Athens, Ohio. Open mic to follow. Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. This reading will be downstairs in the Trophy Room, accessible only by stairs. ASL Interpretation by Meagan Albani.
Jane Ann Fuller authored Half-Life (Sheila-Na-Gig Editions), finalist for the National Indie Excellence Awards. Her poems appear in Shenandoah, Calyx, Swwim, Hunger Mountain, and elsewhere. She is Best of the Net nominee, semi-finalist in The MacGuffin's Poet Hunt 29 contest, and winner of the James Boatwright III Poetry Prize, Jane Ann lives in southeastern Ohio.
Wendy McVicker served as poet laureate of Athens, Ohio from 2020 through 2022. Her most recent full-length book is a collaborative collection with poet Cathy Cultice Lentes, Stronger When We Touch (The Orchard Street Press,2023). Her chapbook, Alone in the Burning, is forthcoming from Sheila-Na-Gig editions in 2024.
