Skywhale & Skywhalepapa Launch

Launching from Henry Street Oval at sunrise on May 31 (weather permitting), the Skywhales will be soaring over Northam for approximately 40 minutes.

Join us from 5.30am for a proposed launch at sunrise (approximately 7.04am).

At the launch event, the Shire of Northam President will be sharing a few words to mark the occasion.

Please note that the launch of the skywhales will be at a separate location to the launch of the balloons in the Northam Light Balloon Fiesta (flying every day between May 30 and June 2 weather permitting), although both the skywhales and the fiesta balloons will be visible flying over Northam on the morning of May 31.

Skywhales Across Australia is a National Gallery Touring Event, supported by the Australian Government through Visions of Australia and the National Collecting Institutions Touring Outreach Program. Skywhales is the third instalment of The Balnaves Contemporary Series and is a Know My Name project.
