Expect rhythm, song, language, and lots of fun in a culturally safe space for Koolangahs from York and surrounding townships.
📌 Parents are welcome to stay if your child is under 10. 👟 Please wear something comfortable and bring a bottle of water and a snack.
About Deb Sketon:
Deb Skelton is a passionate music educator and performer with over 20 years of experience, known for creating inclusive spaces where children feel connected and proud of their identity. She leads choirs and music clubs across the school day and founded Koorlangka Warangka, the Marri Grove Primary School Noongar Singing Club, which celebrates Aboriginal culture and language through song.
Welcoming both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students, the group has performed at major events including WAGSMS, the WA Primary School Principals’ Conference, and Carols on Country at Yagan Square. Deb’s work centres on embedding Noongar language and cultural sharing into music education, empowering students to feel seen, valued, and culturally strong.
