CALL FOR ART: BIRDS
We are seeking bird-related art for the June-July exhibit at HIVE artspace in York, PA.
Submission Period: May 1 through May 15 (by midnight).
Exhibit dates: June 6 - July 26, 2025.
Opening Reception: First Friday, June 6, 5-9pm.
Birds... ALL the birds! So many to wonderful birds to choose from! You can even invent your own! As always, the bird / birds do not have to be the main subject, but must be featured somewhere in the piece. All mediums are welcome.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Please be aware of federal laws regarding feathers and bird bones - yes, even ones you find out in nature. Artworks violating these laws will not be considered for exhibition. Likewise, no animals should be harmed in the making of the art, no harm of animals should be depicted in the art.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration.
• Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.
• ALL artists will receive notification 7-10 days after the submission deadline, whether their artwork was selected or not.
SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed via email, more by providing a link to more work. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 35% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be wired/ready-to-hang/display.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS (please read carefully):
Please send ONE E-MAIL with subject line BIRDS2025 to

• Up to 3 submission images in low-resolution (NO LARGER THAN 3MB) jpeg or png format. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter. Photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "squared" in the frame as possible.
• Info for each submission:
- Title
- Your name (City, State)
- Medium
- Size unframed / size framed (if applicable)
- Price
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, framing time needed, etc.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).
• Any other places in York, PA where you will have work on display during the exhibit timeframe.
