16年目になる今年は象の鼻テラスで開かれます。ふだんの生活の中ではあまり意識をむけていない｢音｣という存在に､私たち は絶え間なく包まれ､影響をうけています。朝の鳥の声､お祭りのがやがや､ 川の流れる水音､雨の日の高架下の轟音､ 小学校の運動会の喝采､休日の歩行者天国の雑踏などなど。｢音｣だけ切り取って改めて考えてみると､そこには､ その土地での暮らしや時間の断片がぎゅっとつめこまれています。

🎧World Listening Dayとは
World Listening Project (WLP)とMidwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE) によって共同で運営される世界的イベントです。World Soundscape Projectを導き、Acoustic Ecology（聴覚環境） と呼ばれる新分野の研究と実践に世界中から興味を惹きつけた「The Tuning of the World」という強い影響力を持った本を著した、 カナダ人の作家、教育者、哲学者、ヴィジュアルアーティスト、作曲者であるR. Murray Schaferの誕生日である7月18日がその日に選ばれました。 サウンドウォークは、近隣もしくは指示されたエリアの自然な音風景を発見し楽しむために、環境の音に意識的に耳を傾けながら歩くイベントです。

東京フォノグラファーユニオンは、フォノグラフィー技術や聴覚環境、私たちを取り巻く音を聞き耳を澄ますことに基本的関心を持ち、献身する世界中にあるフォノグラファーの団体のうちの一つです。 東京フォノグラファーズユニオンは環境の中の「音を聴くこと」「音を楽しむこと」をテーマに ワールドリスニングデーを含め数多くのライブ•イベント、サウンドウオークやワークショップを開催している。 フォノグラフィーとは、野外録音によるアート作品、もしくは自然音の純粋な記録としてではなく、野外録音を作品制作の意図を持って使用することを指します。 音源を加工したものも未加工（そのまま）のものも作品制作において使用されます。

🚢Every year in July, people around the globe gather to celebrate World Listening Day. This year Yokohama Soundscape Project presents World Listening Day 2025 at Zou No Hana terrace in Yokohama.
Now in its 16th year, the event will be held in and around the city of Yokohama. One pays little attention to the existence of “sound” in our daily lives yet we are being continuously surrounded and influenced by it. We encourage you to take this opportunity to open your ears and rediscover the sounds that fill our daily lives.

🎧World Listening Day is co-organized by the World Listening Project (WLP) and the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE). July 18 was chosen because it is the birthday of Canadian writer, educator, philosopher, visual artist, and composer R. Murray Schafer. His effort leading the World Soundscape Project and his seminal book, 'The Tuning of the World', inspired global interest in a new field of research and practice known as Acoustic Ecology.
