Good storytelling skills have become even more important in our world of social media and short attention spans. Investigative journalist Will Potter will join virtually to discuss how to tell powerful stories that engage audiences in complex subjects, even as journalists increasingly face repression and threats from those who want to hide the truth and keep the public ignorant. Please join us for an engaging talk and opportunity for a conversation with the author of Little Red Barns, a book that chronicles his 10-year investigation of factory farming in the United States.


🔸 About the Speaker:
Will Potter is a thought leader and award-winning investigative journalist whose work has focused on social justice and environmental movements, as well as attacks on civil rights post-9/11.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.A. in journalism, summa cum laude) and Johns Hopkins University (M.A. in writing), Potter has focused much of his career on documenting how governments and corporations respond to environmental and animal rights activism. Potter is the author of the influential book Green Is the New Red: An Insider’s Account of a Social Movement Under Siege, which examines how non-violent activists in the United States have been labeled as “terrorists” under expanded national-security frameworks. His TED Talk on the subject has been widely viewed and translated into multiple languages.
