Գաֆէսճեան արվեստի կենտրոնը ներկայացնում է Զադիկ Զադիկյանի առաջին ցուցահանդեսը իր ծննդավայր Հայաստանում. «ՎԵՐԱԴԱՐՁ»: Այս ցուցադրության շրջանակում ներառված ամերիկահայ արվեստագետի ամենակարևոր կոթողային աշխատանքներից մեկը՝ «Օտարները», խորհրդանշում է հայրենիք վերադառնալու երկար ուղին, որ ձևավորվել է տարագրության, ինքնության տրանսֆորմացիաների և ստեղծագործական բուռն հորձանուտում: Գրեթե վեց տասնամյակ հետո Զադիկյանի վերադարձը զուտ անձնական չէ. սա բազմաշերտ գեղարվեստական և գոյաբանական վերաինտեգրման քայլ է։
Ցուցահանդեսի հիմքում «Օտարները» աշխատանքն է, որը վերաիմաստավորվել և վերակազմվել է Հայաստանում որպես մոնումենտալ, հատուկ տեղայնացված ինստալյացիա: Վերաինստալյացիայից ավելին, աշխատանքը ենթարկվել է մետամորֆոզի. արվեստագետը կառուցում է ամբողջովին նոր միջավայր: Ցուցասրահ Մեկի ծավալուն պատը վերածվել է արհեստական սև անհունի. մի տարածք, որը ոչ թե ստեղծագործության համար ֆոն է, այլ աշխատանքի անբաժանելի մաս:
Հայտնվելով անընդհատ մարդկային հոսքով հանրային վայրում` աշխատանքը տարածվում է իր ֆիզիկական ձևից անդին՝ վերածվելով մշտապես ապրվող փորձառության: Դատարկության մեջ հառնող ոսկեգույն դեմքերը սկսում են արտացոլել անցորդ այցելուներին՝ միախառնելով նրանց ինքնությունները հենց ինստալյացիայի մեջ: Այսպիսով, «Օտարները» դառնում է ոչ միայն տեղահանման մասին խորհրդածություն, այլև իմերսիվ հանդիպում, որտեղ դիտողի և պատկերի, օտարի և եսի միջև գիծը տարալուծվում է։
«ՎԵՐԱԴԱՐՁ»-ի միջոցով «օտարի» գաղափարը հատում է աշխարհագրական բոլոր սահմանները։ Մենք բոլորս, երբեմն միմյանց համար օտար ենք, և, այնուամենայնիվ, մենք կիսում ենք նույն աղբյուրը։ Դատարկությունը միավորում է։ Ոսկին վեհացնում է։
Զադիկ Զադիկյանը Հայաստանում իր առաջին ցուցադրությունը նվիրում է 2020 թվականի Արցախի պատերազմում զոհված զինվորների լուսավոր հիշատակին:

RETURN, Zadik Zadikian’s first-ever exhibition in his home country, Armenia, is presented by the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. Featuring the American-Armenian artist’s pivotal monumental work, Foreigners, the project marks a homecoming shaped by a lifetime of exile, transformation, and visionary creation. After nearly six decades away, Zadikian’s return is not merely personal; it is a profound act of artistic and existential reintegration.
The exhibition centers around Foreigners, reimagined and reborn in Armenia as a monumental, site-specific installation. More than a reinstallation, the work has undergone a metamorphosis: the artist has conceived an entire sculptural environment around it. A monumental wall at the Interactive Study Center within Gallery One has been transformed into a crafted black void — a space that not only supports the work but becomes integral part to it.
Situated in a public space with continuous human flow, the work extends beyond its physical form into lived experience. The golden faces suspended in the void begin to mirror the passing visitors, blending the identities of bystanders into the installation itself. In this way, Foreigners becomes not only a meditation on displacement but an immersive encounter — where the line between viewer and image, stranger and self, dissolves.
Through the act of return, the idea of the “foreigner” transcends geography. We are all, at times, outsiders to one another — and yet, we share the same source. The void unites. The gold dignifies.
Zadik Zadikian dedicates his first exhibition in Armenia to the memory of the fallen soldiers of the 2020 Artsakh war.
The exhibition will be open to the public in Gallery One of the Center from May 6, 2025. The admission is free.
