If you have nature-mad children, make a date for your diaries folks, because Bugfest returns for three mega minibeast handling days this summer.
On Friday the 1st, 15th and 29th August the monster minibeasts make themselves known in a free-flow walk up and enjoy display.
Headed up naturalist, entomologist and stage performer, Nick Wadham and his fantastic team of Bugfest Rangers, you can expect to meet some of the most exciting exotic minibeasts from around the world. Be astounded at finding out about how amazing these creatures are, and just how important they are to the survival of ALL life on Planet Earth!
Weather depending, Bugfest will either be under an outdoor gazebo in Ivel Square or in one of the vacant stores if wet.
On display you will find giant stick insects almost the length of your arm, giant snails the size of sweet potatoes, cockroaches, mantids, giant millipedes, tarantulas, bird eating spiders and scorpions!!
This is a free event and given the expected popularity, there may be a queue/crowd management system in place.
