August Dormouse Survey

Our monthly dormouse survey as part of the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme. We will check 50 boxes a short walk away from Sutton Bingham fishing lodge with our licensed dormouse ecologist.

Seeing a dormouse is not guaranteed, although we are likely to see a nest. This year there has also been a lot of woodmice, yellow necked mice, nesting birds and invertebrates in some boxes, so always something to see!

We are opening this survey up for children over 8 years to attend (with a responsible adult). The survey will run in the same format (with no child specific activities) so will suit an older child/ young person with an active interest in nature/ science.

Also open to adult to attend without children as usual.
