A Polarity Practice: Winter invites us into the teachings of contrast, where cold becomes clarity, heat becomes vitality, and the space between them becomes insight. Polarity is intelligence: opposing forces sharpen our awareness, strengthen our structure, and guide us toward balance.
We’ll step into the quiet beauty of Glen Helen for a brisk, wintry hike, letting the cold air organize our breath, our senses, and our presence. When we return to the warmth of the studio, heat softens what the cold awakened, and you’ll be guided through intentional movement blending Yoga principles with high-intensity interval training to build strength, buoyancy, and embodied resilience.
This practice is for anyone craving a ritual that feels both grounding and electrifying: an exploration of seasonal rhythm, embodied geometry, and the transformative power of contrast therapy.
What to Bring:
- Dress ready to hike in cold winter temperatures (layered clothing recommended).
- Water bottle.
- Supportive footwear for uneven terrain.
Optional: Small towel or change of top for post-hike movement practice in a heated studio space.
What to Expect: Meet at the studio and we will head directly into Glen Helen for a 60-minute cold-weather hike guided with breath, pacing, and presence. Then we will return to a heated yoga studio for 20–30 minutes of intentional movement blended to build strength and circulatory heat. This practice is designed to explore polarity, balance, and seasonal resilience.
