"Have You Been Here Before?" Tour

A relaxed day tour of some roads less travelled. Compiled by John “Speedy” Moore (LM).

Meet at Yarra Glen Recreation Reserve (on Yarra Glen/Healesville Rd) at 9AM for issue of (easy to follow) Notes & Maps (so you know where you are) and a 9.30AM departure for a great drive.

Important Travel Note:
The bridge over the Maroondah Aqueduct (Eltham–Yarra Glen Rd, just before Yarra Glen) will be closed. We suggest coming via Coldstream.

The day will be in two Divisions. Division 1 is roughly 2 hours and 65kM. Each Division will have a number of observational questions en-route, plus a few general ones. There is one section which contains about 7kM of smooth, and pothole free, unmade road. If, however, you don’t wish to use that road, an alternative route on sealed roads will be detailed in the Notes.

Division 1 will finish at the half way point of Broadford where you will be met by a Volunteer to collect your answers. Broadford has a wide variety of eating places so the lunch choice is yours.

Division 2 will have more observational questions and is roughly 75kM long and may take 2 hours or so. The finish will be back towards Yarra Glen with plenty of interesting ways home.
