We are excited to announce the first show at Rooted, featuring live music with the bands Sunbathe and Bart Budwig on Sunday, July 20th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
• The sounds of Portland, Oregon's Sunbathe exhibit a wide range of variation, from dreamy pop to garage rock, from ethereally dark jams to doo-wop-inspired tunes. However, continuity shines through Maggie Morris' (also from the critically acclaimed band 'Genders') lyrical honesty and a raw performance style. She can command the stage with soaring vocals while maintaining a vulnerability that will captivate you.
•Bart Budwig is a cosmic country crooner, a rousing trumpet player, and cryin’-style soul singer. His music is composed of seemingly incongruous elements: thrumming and strumming country rhythms, jazz guitar melodies, and R&B vocals. When Bart sings, he draws out words into meditative mantras, whole note neologisms that keep you hanging on until his raspy voice trails off in a ragged edge.
It's been a while since these musicians last visited Yakima...and both have developed a healthy following and garnered much love here! There is limited space, so come early and let's welcome these friends back to town!
