The Sweet Container We'll create together will help support you on your musical journey & provide a wonderful opportunity to process through movement...or even stillness as you feel called... assisting you in letting go of anything that no longer serves you... making space for that which you desire!
Ecstatic Dance is an experience of self-expression through free-form dance, where dancers abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them. Participants dance alone or with partner/s, with or without physical contact.
Beginning and ending with a facilitated group circle, and guided by a DJ blending various music styles together into a seamless flow of cultural exposure. YOCO warmly invites you to share in an evening of co-created community, connection, and joyful self-expression.
Evening Schedule:
Doors open at 6:40PM
7:00pm Opening Circle (Please note, you must be seated in the circle by 7:00 pm, as the doors will close at that time.)
7:15-8:45 PM Dance
8:45 PM Closing Circle
Ecstatic Dance (E-dance) Guidelines:
While on the dance floor, please remember that this space is an alcohol and drug free environment.
Please no talking on the dance floor—A lounge space will be set up to allow for quiet conversation and rest.
Please wear comfortable clothes to move in and plenty of water! And no shoes! Socks are OK. Additional water will be provided.
Ecstatic dance is akin to a yoga class. Please arrive ON TIME for the opening circle. While all are welcome, doors WILL close once the opening circle has begun to protect the sensitivity of each individual's physical, emotional, and mental experience. Props are available; participants are asked to clean props after use.
E-dance is NOT a club or party experience; it's a carefully facilitated event designed with the intention to promote the union between Mind, Body, & Spirit... much like a yoga class. However, please feel free to leave at any time.
The YOCO studio is scent free for the health and comfort of those with allergies. All are welcome!
This event is family friendly and Donation Based.
