We tried it last Sunday and it was fantastic, so Mike Pappenheim & Friends will be doing a monthly Sunday Jazz session at Spun.
Weather permitting this will happen outside & if it rains, in true jazz style... we'll need to improvise!
Mike is a well known jazz Sax and flute player in Worthing
partly due to his regular busking in the town centre where
he has raised over £30k for St Barnabas House hospice
playing and selling copies of his CD "Jazz, Hope and Charity".
Mike is self taught with his biggest influences being John Coltrane,
Dexter Gordon and Grover Washington and is performing regularly around
Worthing and Brighton in jazz gigs, jam sessions (such as Spuntaneous)
and also in the funk band "Horn Dogs" and blues band "Gogoville".
The line-up for Spun includes Spuntaneous regular Manny on drum kit
and the band will play some smooth, funky jazz grooves for you
to enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon at Spun. The full line-up is:
Mike Pappenheim (Tenor/Sop Saxophone and Flute)
Manny Ogunniyi (Drums)
Oli Clarke (Bass)
Ronan Hackett (Piano)
Andy Higgs (Guitar)
(Full Line-up is subject to change!)
