This year’s fair is set to be the best yet, with games, fun, flamenco dancers and the ever-popular dog show.
There’ll be a whole streetfull of traditional stall and games, including the coconut shy, splat the rat, snail racing, hook-a-duck and the ever-popular pot smashing stall, where you can let your frustrations fly at a packed rack of teapots, plates and fine china.
Our white elephant stall features bargains galore and there’ll be delicious home-made jams, chutneys, and local produce for sale, as well as teas served in our historic village hall.
Special guests this year include:
- Latin flavours from Flamenco in Sheffield, who’ll perform on the village street
- An authentic Viking clan, who’ll set up a vibrant living history display and mock battle
- Our fun dog show, hosted by Hardwick Hounds (entries accepted on the day, so bring your pooch and get involved)
Music, as ever, is a significant feature of the fair and this year will be provided throughout the afternoon by the acclaimed Rotherham Youth Orchestra.
Add to that craft stalls, balloon modelling by the ingenious Mr Twister, face painting, plenty of free parking and dancing around the maypole, the 2025 event looks sure to be the best we’ve ever hosted.
The fair raises funds for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of Letwell’s historic church, St Peter’s, as well as contributing towards other projects and community events in the village.
** Find the fair, which is free to attend and runs from 1-4pm, on Letwell's main street, Barker Hades Road - just head for S81 8DF to be directed to the free parking when you arrive.
