This drop-in session is a chance to see what we do, why we do it, and how you can get involved in caring for Sherwoodโs special heathland.
Bring the kids along and learn how to;
- Identify bird calls
- Prune trees
- Identify plants
Our team will be on hand to chat about conservation, answer questions, and help you have a go at some practical tasks.
You can also get involved in our light conservation work such as bracken pulling, removing small self-seeded trees and tackling invasive species โ all suitable for beginners, with guidance from our staff and volunteers.
Itโs a great opportunity for families, curious youngsters, and anyone interested in volunteering to experience hands-on conservation in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Parking in the lay by opposite the Green Hut, or at the back of the Alders pub car park. Meet us by the picnic benches on Sherwood Heath.
