Cranes and Chorus: A Communal Call for Nuclear Disarmament
We remember the nuclear bombings of Japan, featuring Mountain River Taiko Drumming, Worcester Peace Chorus, and lantern floating ceremony.

About this Event

On August 6, 1945, US pilots dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, initiating a nuclear arms race that continues to imperil the planet. Join us as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing with Cranes and Chorus: A Communal Call for Nuclear Disarmament. The evening's program includes readings of accounts from Hiroshima bomb survivors, a reading of the 2025 Hiroshima Declaration of Peace, cultural performances by and Worcester's newly created Peace Chorus, and a lantern floating ceremony on lovely Lake Quinsigamond.
