Would you like to try wild swimming? Your adventure starts here.
Wild Swimming is one of the fastest growing wellbeing activities in the UK, and the amazing health and wellbeing benefits are becoming widely recognised and acknowledged.
If you fancy giving it a go there's no better time to start! The water is now up to around 19 degrees and along with the mild weather this creates the perfect conditions for your first experience.
This intro session provides the perfect first step in your wild swimming adventure and will set you in good stead for continuing through the summer and into the colder months of the year if that's what you decide to do.
The course takes place at Broadfields, which is a beautiful clean and safe lake in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, less than 10 minutes off the M5, J5. Many of our newbies love the fact that you the lake is small and welcoming, with a shallow ledge all the way around, so you can do a whole lap without going out of your depth.
Cold water immersion has so many health benefits including:
- Improves mood and reduces anxiety
- Increases energy levels and mental clarity
- Speeds up physical recovery
- Improves discipline and resilience
- Improves sleep
It also provides an amazing opportunity to meet new people in a very informal setting, and the chance to reconnect with nature all year round.
The session is 2 hours long and includes an hour of theory and preparation followed by a guided swim.

What to bring and wear:
1. Lots of layers/change of clothes - to keep you warm before you go into the water and help you to re-warm afterwards. Things that are easy to put on are best - think tracksuits, onesies, zip up fleece hoody.
2. A bobble hat to wear in the water, plus a dry one to wear afterwards.
3. A big coat and gloves to pop on while you re-warm afterwards.
4. A changing robe or large towel to preserve your modesty when changing - there are no changing rooms!
5. A pre-filled hot water bottle (optional). If you have a cool bag you can pop it inside that to keep it warm.
6. Swim wear/wetsuit. Wetsuits are not required, but if you feel you would prefer to wear one that ok. It's personal preference.
7. Flip flops or crocs - something easy to slip on and off while you walk around lakeside. Warm shoes and cosy socks are also good to have when you are dry and re-warming.
8. Re-useable hot drinks cup - we serve hot drinks and cakes after the swim
