Class Description:
Explore how nature can be your art supplies with Jennifer R. Bates. She is a local mindfulness artist and author sharing the fun of mandala art for a calming session of creative fun! Learn how to create nature mandalas with flowers, leaves, seeds and other nature found items. Each participant will learn techniques and tips as they create their own calming nature mandala art installation on circle boards, as taught in her award winning book, Nature Mandalas for the Busy Minds under her pen name Tela Talise. After completion of the workshop, each participant will receive an emailed photo of their mandala as a keepsake.

Artist Bio:
Jennifer R. Bates is a South Jersey artist and author specializing in mindfulness and nature inspired content. In January of 2025, she established her independent publishing company, Tela Talise Books and published her first solo book Nature Mandalas for Busy Minds: Mindfulness Moments For Inspiring Connection and Calm. Tela Talise is her pen name. She teaches mandala workshops in the community and is an associate artist at the Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville, NJ. She graduated from Cumberland County College with a fine arts degree and studied illustration through Sessions College of Professional Design, Temple, AZ. In addition, she is a college business professor who loves to teach students about marketing and business, especially in the arts. Although nature mandala art is one of her favorite things to do, she also makes jewelry, creates mixed media art, acrylic paintings and loves to explore other art mediums such as photography. She takes pride in being a mom of two art, music and theater loving teenagers and enjoys traveling with her husband and kids.
