A Juneteenth Celebration Concert

Juneteenth Celebration Concert, conducted by T.J. Abernathy, Ritenour High School Community Auditorium, 9100 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Louis, MO 63114. Free Admission! This concert celebrates the vibrant contributions of living Black composers, highlighting diverse musical styles. Experience the much-anticipated premiere of Rhythms of the City by Jacobi Edwards, featuring R&B melodies and trap music, Fantasia in C by TJ Abernathy, blending orchestral and hip-hop traditions, and the stage premiere of Black Coffee, a new opera by Blake Hernton.
The concert will also showcase works by renowned composers Anthony Barfield, Dwayne Milburn, and more, bringing rich tapestry and unique orchestral colors to life. Enjoy captivating pieces such as Invictus and Adoration for Solo Violin by Florence Price, along with Dvořák’s beloved In Nature’s Realm.
